Sang-woo’s fish shop in Squid Game connects to a real business: Paldo Geoneomul, a dried goods shop in Ssangmun-dong’s Baegun Market. The convenience store where Gi-hun and Il-nam reunite also belongs to an everyday Seoul neighborhood. These shops bring the characters’ lives into focus, while Namsan opens up a wider view of the city.
Two shops, two scenes in Ssangmun-dong
The Korea Tourism Organization’s location guide identifies Paldo Geoneomul as the filming location for Sang-woo’s fish shop and lists its address as 36, Samyang-ro 154-gil, Dobong-gu. The actual business name and the shop’s fictional role are distinct.
Gi-hun and Il-nam’s reunion was filmed at CU Ssangmun Uicheon. Visit Seoul lists the address as 11, Uicheon-ro 39-gil, Dobong-gu, and Korea.net’s reporting corroborates the filming history. Each shop connects to a different scene; the guides do not establish a walking route between them. Before visiting, confirm both shops’ addresses, operating status and opening hours.
Seoul’s skyline from Namsan
Netflix’s location guide also includes Namsan among the Seoul filming locations. The photograph below broadens the view from neighborhood shops to layers of buildings and distant mountain ridges. It shows Seoul from Namsan, rather than a specific scene or camera position from the series.

The ddakji scene: two different station names
Official guides disagree about where Gi-hun plays ddakji with the recruiter. Netflix names Seoul Forest Station. Visit Seoul identifies the Gangnam-bound platform at Yangjae Citizens’ Forest Station on the Shinbundang Line. The discrepancy remains unresolved, so neither station is a confirmed stop for this scene.
The reference photographs show Seoul Forest Station’s Exit 2 and the concourse at Yangjae Citizens’ Forest Station. They help distinguish the stations; neither documents the filming platform.

Demolished sets and restricted island access
Netflix states that the game sets built at Daejeon Expo Science Park were demolished. Their filming history does not mean the sets remain available to see.
The same guide describes Seongapdo as private property inaccessible to the general public, making it unsuitable as a public sightseeing stop. To explore the filming background and these access conditions, read Netflix’s full location guide.
